Reasons to replace your electrical panel:

1. It is old. As panels age they deteriorate, connections become less secure and create heat which is cause for fire. As breakers age, they can wear out and trip prematurely or worse not trip at all.

2. These panels have been recalled (challenger, zinsco, federal pacific panels) due to improper operation. It is recommended they be replaced with new updated panel and breakers.

3. Fuse boxes are usually older and lack the required amount of fuse locations to serve today’s electrical requirements.

4. Do you need a larger service? Older homes did not serve all the electrical items we utilize today and therefore the electrical services were often smaller. A standard service sizing for today’s homes is 200 Amps and is able to accommodate 20 – 40 breaker spaces.
